AUTOMOTIVE (Our specialty)
If your building a street rod, muscle car (or truck), a classic, daily driver, doing restoration at a concourse level, or creating the next show circuit winner, American Stripping Company’s gentle, dry, micro-mineral blast cleaning process guarantees you will “Start with the perfect finish” ™ every time.
We are craftsman at our trade, leading our industry, with over 6155.5 vehicles stripped since April of 1984, you can entrust your project to American Stripping Company, knowing you will receive the highest quality workmanship possible. When it comes to automotive paint and rust removal we pride ourselves on being at the quality end of the spectrum, and share in your passion with the automobile.
Surfaces are gently abraded using our micro-mineral abrasive which has the ability to retain it’s superior cutting quality as it breaks down enabling us to recycle, and reuse it at a super fine grit size, also allowing us to use low air pressures. This means minimal tempeture change to the item being blast cleaned, therefore no warping or distortion of the metal occurs. Our process is safe for threaded areas and won’t work harden metal. Rust, paint and other coatings are removed leaving a light tooth or etched anchor pattern to the surface, perfect for the adhesion of an epoxy primer or the coating of your choice. We can also remove the heavier, more stubborn coatings such as undercoating and body fillers when needed.
Automotive blast cleaning medias offered:
Micro Mineral — 200-250 grit size, low pressure application, low heat generation, removes rust, cleanses surface, provides light even etch profile.
Plastic Media — Aggressive thru most coatings, extremely low heat generation, doesn’t etch hard metal surfaces, aggressive on soft metals, doesn’t touch rust.
Glass Bead — Used when a more polished or penned surface profile is desired, can be used as a finish appearance on some alloys, Sand— 30-120 grit sizes, aggressive to surface, medium to high heat generation, used on heavier metal, leaves greater profile to surface, removes rust.
Designer Medias — Such as Walnut shells, Sponge, Garnet, Baking Soda, Corn Cobs, you name it. If your project calls for out of the ordinary specifications we work with you to achieve the results your after. If you can run it thru a blaster we’ll do it.
We stock 10-100,000 lbs of various abrasives or blast media’s. Our shop also has the capability of process blasting very large items outside.
